Dwell with Dignity​

​​DIY projects for Dwell with Dignity – designs and installs complete home interiors for families that desperately need an environment that will support health and wellness. ​​

  • Help assemble furniture, clean, hang draperies, accessorize, etc. for family home installations in DFW

  • Children aged 16 and older and welcome but must be accompanied by an adult if under 18

Carrollton ISD

​​Various opportunities in Title IX schools in this district – received these ideas and opportunities from several counselors that are members of TDC in this area. ​

  • Personal Hygiene Closet: collecting these needs for counselors to be able to provide students – deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby/body wipes, feminine products.

  • Shoe & Sock donation closet

  • Mentors – Big Brothers Big Sisters (www.bbbs.org/school-based) and Big Hope (www.benttree.org/carrollton-big-hope) are two organizations that have opportunities to do this

  • Tutor – huge need specifically in math and reading – will require a background check

North Texas Food Bank

  • Children 10 or older are able to serve

  • 16 and up can pass out food

  • 18+ can deliver food to seniors

Soup Mobile

Packaging sack lunches to be distributed to the homeless community in downtown Dallas.

  • Ages: all ages are welcome to participate – children just need to be able to help make/package sandwiches and accompanied by an adult.

  • No prior registration or background check is required – just show up!

  • Wear hair back or under a hat for food preparation; comfortable clothing

  • Bring: sandwich making supplies (sliced bologna, Kraft cheese singles, sliced sandwich bread, Ziploc bags, tortilla chips, and cookies) – you don’t have to bring all these things…just one or two items is fine!

  • When: 4th Saturday or each month @ 10 AM (3rd Saturday for November and December) – upcoming events: Saturday, December 15th; Saturday, January 26th; Saturday, February 23rd; Saturday, March 23rd; Saturday, April 27th

  • Where: Life Church in Coppell – 200 Fitness Ct. Coppell, TX; parking is free
