ABOUT US

STATEMENT OF FAITH

The TDC elders and pastors are extremely careful to measure any teaching with the Word of the Living God. Our Statement of Faith is grounded in Scripture alone and is a collection of the biblical doctrines that are foundational to followers of Jesus Christ.

OUR DNA

Gospel Centered

We preach one message every week at The Door Church: We are in need of Jesus. Because Jesus lived a perfect life, died, and was resurrected, we have freedom from the guilt of sin and have been offered a new life in Christ. When we look to Scripture – God’s living word – and behold the truths it contains, our lives begin to change. At The Door Church, we never stray from what the Scripture says and recognize that the center-point of Scripture is Jesus.

Community Driven

The pillar ministry of The Door Church is Groups. This is because we believe in the power of a real, sharpening, life-giving community. Jesus is our common denominator, and because of that, every person can be welcomed into our community with open arms. We recognize that an intentional community is a vital part of growing as a disciple. God’s design is for us to pursue discipleship in Christ through Scripture and encourage others to do the same.

Other People Focused

God sent Jesus into the world to do the work of reconciliation. Jesus tells us, “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” When we truly grasp the gospel, we take on the mission of bringing the message of reconciliation to our homes, neighborhoods, and workplaces. Being Other People Focused means living in a way that shows the selfless and sacrificial love that Jesus demonstrated to us.

PREACHING TEAM

We have a primary preaching team at TDC, meaning we have a team of qualified pastors who preach the gospel. Why do we do this?

  • We do not want to exalt any one preacher as the voice of TDC. This protects the church and our pastors.

  • It is healthy for the congregation to hear preaching from different personalities.

  • Having a preaching team allows our pastors to preach and rest regularly, which is good for them and for the church.
